About

I take a personal approach to my work

Paul Farrington is an award-winning Creative Director / Designer, working at the forefront of technology-led design. Paul creates one-of-a-kind designs for brands and private clients.

I'm an experienced Creative Director who cut my teeth and honed my craft at renowned boutique design agencies. I've created campaigns for global brands, art directed Vogues, refreshed the Girl Guides, worked closely with artists and cultural institutions, co-founded a creative studio and have taught at some of the most respected art colleges in the world.

I am an experienced multidisciplinary designer, inquisitive, focussed and methodical. I offer intelligent and considered investigations – adapting my visual thinking process to whatever medium or brief I am exploring.

My clients say I create distinctive, beautiful, contemporary visual designs of the highest calibre, with a wit and endearing charm that make me fun to work with.

I develop opportunities by distilling a projects unique complexities into an elegant visual language of compelling simplicity.

On the following page is a 20 year archive of clients I have worked with. Work that makes me proud.

For me great work is happens as a result of collaborating with a client and to understand their aims and ambitions but to be able to think freely and to be given the space to think big and explore ways to achieve a result that might not be realised at the start of a project . Who would have thought that I would be designing a death walk in Kingston, or for Imperial College a series of seats. Floating Memories was about celebrating 150 years of brighton swimming club and work with so many people. When I do an illustration for New Scientist, its about taking a story about something I have no idea what it means, but its about being able to interpret it and try and visualise it so it tells a story. Working with Louis Franck - he has big big ideas that are very elaborate - for me its about taking these ideas and creating something that is beautiful to look at, but uses all his ideas to realise it. The reason I do what I do, is because I love design, it has value. Apple would be nothing if it didn’t have good design. Its aesthetic to detail and thinking beyond what is expected and

Areas I have worked in: Whether I work on a logo thats going on a business card, to a 180 meter walkway at Imperial College my thinking and design process is always the same. For an identity, my aim is to interpret a clients values and express their company, project through a single mark that works in black and white. Once an identity is created I then love the

I want this website to be a showcase for my work, but to also get people to understand who i am, my thinking, my skills, how i think, what makes me tick.
